Rembrandtplein
The Rembrandtplein, and the Thorbeckeplein next to it, offer many bars and clubs, yet it is a little bit more quiet and calm than the Leidseplein, except from the summer, then people pop up out of nowhere to enjoy the sun with a glass of Dutch beer at one of the many restaurants.
The Rembrandtplein leads through the Reguliersbreestraat into the Kalverstraat, the most well known Amsterdam shopping street. In the Reguliersbreestraat you will also find the famous Tuschinski movie theatre, welcoming on its red carpet many Dutch celebrities during premières. The eldest theatre of Amsterdam is the De Kleine Komedie, hosting cabaret and music. In the Reguliersdwarsstraat are many different gaybars.
On the cross road of the Reguliersgracht and Herengracht bridge, you experience a beautiful view of 15 bridges over the canals. From the Magere Brug over the Amstel you have as well a beautiful view over the canals and Amsterdams picturesque houses.
