The Rivierenbuurt: Tradeshows

The Rivierenbuurt is just a little outside the centre, but still very close to the Pijp. The people living here are mostly people with young children and people who prefer or cannot live in the centre. The streets are much wider and more organised than in the center of Amsterdam.

 

Right before the freeway access you find the RAI, which is the biggest building for huge tradeshow and shows. Here is always something going on, from tradeshows about cars or the household to ballet and horse shows.

 

Behind the RAI they created a little beach, Strand Zuid, where especially young professionals and students go in the summer after work, or when tey don’t have time to go to the real beach. You can even go here by boat if you are the proud owner of one.
