La Jolla
A visit to San Diego without seeing La Jolla would be like a visit to Italy without seeing Rome.
La Jolla is a literally and figuratively “the jewel” of the California coastline, situated on hills and cliffs hugging the Pacific, this playground for the rich, and enjoyable backdrop for everyone else, is a must see and experience for all.
By day, La Jolla dazzles with spectacular beaches including the Cove and Shores, where white sand beaches and ocean waves beckon. Take a stroll though the village and peruse the myriad of art galleries and boutiques along Girard and Prospect Streets, but be prepared they tend to be on the pricey side.
Beyond spectacular natural sites and shopping, La Jolla offers a quaint village with gracious architecture including the Spanish baroque La Valencia, and Grand Colonial Inn, just two of the spectacular man made icons in La Jolla.
Dining choices abound from seafood and steak greats with breathtaking views including Top of the Cove and George’s. The views take on even more of a spectacle as the sun begins to set.
Though La Jolla tends to be fairly quiet after 10pm, it’s daytime and early evenings are amazing. There are some great late night and more social spots for dining and even dancing.
