Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach is San Diego’s version of LA’s Venice Beach and San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury.
Ocean Beach is by far the most far out of the beach communities, this neighborhood prides itself on it's counter-culture and holding the line on the big brands, corporate retailers, and restaurants, it is in fact one of the last neighborhoods to get a Starbucks, after several years of protest in fact.
The main street Newport, is host to countless antique, clothing re-sale, and other creative “soft drug culture” stores, and one of the best hamburger joints in town, Hodad’s.
