Solana Beach
Venturing north of La Jolla and Del Mar, the beach communities of North County San Diego take on more of a relaxed attitude, Solana Beach is gateway to the old-school California surf culture.
Take a car, the train or Coaster to Solana Station when you disembark head straight for Cedros Avenue, a street once occupied by trackside manufacturing in WWII era warehouses. Cedros is now occupied by casual and chic apparel, accessory, art, interior and exterior design boutiques.
Also not to be missed are the dining and entertainment options including amazing breakfast, lunch and gourmet coffees at Zinc Café, and you never know who you might hear when you visit the Belly Up Tavern, known locally as the B.U.T. Head to The Boardwalk for more cafés, restaurants and shopping experiences, this is where the bicyclists congregate mid-ride, particularly on the weekends.
The beaches are also spectacular in Solana Beach, all around a great place to visit.
