University Heights
University Heights is a more reserved and intimate variation on Hillcrest. T
his historic district was once the end of the line for San Diego’s early trolley line, the now Trolley Barn Park. University Heights Park Blvd is a quaint and tree-lined, with ornate arts & crafts and Spanish revival styled buildings and homes.
The highlights of this neighborhood include restaurants the Parkhouse Eatery, great for brunch or dinner. Try El Zarape for amazing Mexican seafood including their incredible lobster burrito. Just down the block are two great day or night spots for drinking and relaxing with friends, Lei Lounge and Bourbon Street, both have a mixed crowd, gay or straight you are welcome.
Check out this hidden gem of a neighborhood, it is a cut above San Diego’s other core historic neighborhoods.
