When visiting Amsterdam in December, I stayed at this hotel that is exactly the combination of small size, modern innovative style, comfort and warmth, and an attentive and welcoming staff that I love when I travel. The Roemer Hotel and its larger, less quaint sister hotel, the Vondel, around the corner, both offer this unique combination of qualities, though I preferred the Roemer due to its smaller size and sitting room with fireplace. It is one of those hotels that pleases with innovative details, chandeliers made out of desk lamps (it works!), plush seating and rugs on vintage wood flooring, and a warm combination of white and brown hues. Check it out and check in to the Roemer when you visit AmDam!

I really appreciated their rainshower, 3 flat-screen tvs with free DVD rental, wireless network and Nespresso in the room.
