It’s hard to imagine finding a combination of stylish, sophisticated, urban and trend-setting foods, wines, products, and dining options in a strip mall and for that matter, an adjoining former post office, but here's proof that it does exist and thanks to a brilliant restaurant and retailing group it is possible, probable and passionately perfect.
Located in Phoenix’s central and historic Arcadia neighborhood, characterized by mid-century ranch style homes, neighborhoods now being adopted by hip Gen Y and Gen X and genteel (but thankfully not flashy or cagey “cougar-ish” boomers) who are seeking out a more urban-spirited place to live and/or entertain.
Offering something for nearly every palette, this former strip mall and post office include a pizzeria, casual bistro, Italian restaurant, wine bar, café, market, and other shopping options. The overall feel is relaxed, a marketplace atmosphere with a definite post-industrial feel including glass rollup garage doors, factory type lighting and rustic Provencal/Tuscan warm colors.
Be sure to also visit Tammy Coe Cakes for artistic, architectural, works of art in sugar and flour, Mary Antoinette would be envious!
