As StyleXplorers prepares to celebrate the recent and on-going rebirth of preppy style, I began to think about the movies that best reflected the birth (Caddyshack), zenith (Dead Poets Society) and demise (Metroploitan). The movie at the forefront of Preppy style's demise is a sometimes amusing, sometimes distrurbing, but always brilliant and insightful look at the high society behind preppy style in the 1980's.

The movie and its character's are my contemporaries , the young adults coming of age at the dawn of a new decade the 1990's. The film traces a group of young adults as they make their way through the debutant scene of Manhattan.
