Oil prices and foreign dependency is all over the news. The southeast US has citizens driving across state lines to find fuel. Tennessee and Georgia citizens are driving to Kentucky to fill up their tanks and reserves to bring home since Hurricane Ike hit the Texas refineries.
One company in Vancouver is working hard to turn that around. Pond scum = fuel.. biofuel that is. Valcent Products has created Vertigro, a system of producing biofuel from algae. Valcent claims that the algae biofuel could produce more than enough biofuel to satisfy US fuel consumption. Take a look at the video for an explanation.
