Though these "Millennials" currently lean Democratic, research demonstrates that they’re far more wedded to progressive political and social views than to any one party. Millennials most often describe themselves as independents (39 percent) than either Democrats (34 percent) or Republicans (24 percent).
Far from being the disconnected, self-absorbed and overly protected progeny of helicopter parents, many among this generation are speaking up and being herad on issue after issue, from the economy to global warming to the war in Iraq, this next generation favor progressive solutions as much as they reject both “conservative” and “liberal” labels."
