Diamonds are an Italian’s Best Friend

As a little girl you dream of your wedding ring, what it will look like, how big it’ll be, and (in today’s society) what color the stone will be.  That tiny little stone has so much affect on a woman’s mind, body and soul.  A diamond ring solidifies a relationship and tells others that a woman is taken. 

The international Diamond laboratory (IDL) has plans to open a new office in Italy in December 2008.  The opening of this office say’s a lot for the company; they’ll be opening in the world renowned Italian jewelry manufacturing mart.  They are doing this to help raise the confidence of the consumers in diamond certifications and diamond jewelry as a whole. 

The Chief executive officer (Peter Meeus) of IDL stated that “Our new market entries indicate that the diamond industry is maturing and jewelry manufacturers, retailers and consumers are becoming more aware of the importance of an independent third party warranty for diamonds and diamond jewelry. Our specialized services will help to build consumer confidence in the industry."

IDL currently has offices in Dubai, Mumbai, Antwerp and Istanbul.  The Italian Branch will open in Valenza, Italy home to some of Italy’s most prestigious and elite diamond manufacturers such as Bulgaria and Roberto Coin.  Meeus feels that "Being present in a world renowned jewelry manufacturing hub like Italy is an important step for us.  Our certification services are not new to Italy, we have received positive feedback from Italian jewelry manufacturers and we look forward to starting direct operations in the country”

So hopefully with the opening of this new office Diamond industries will grow and the Italian market will gain more recognition.  This has great potential to help Italy and after all who doesn’t love diamonds? I know Italians do!!!
