Talented, hard-working, beautiful, ambitious, intelligent... These are just several adjectives with which we can describe Hadise. Born in 1985 in Belgium, Hadise is an award-winning Turkish R&B singer and songwriter who lives in Belgium. Known for the unique songs which experiment with R&B, Turkish pop and dance music, she is writing the lyrics for most of her songs.
Been a professional singer since the age of 16, she found her gateway to fame with the Flemish version of Pop Idol. She entered the contest in 2003 when she was 17 years old and she was offered a record contract after her performance on the show. She released her first album “Sweat” in 2005 and won an "Altın Kelebek" (Golden Butterfly) award in Turkey with her song Stir Me Up which gained popularity in both Turkey and Belgium. Then she released her self-entitled studio album, “Hadise”, in both Belgium and Turkey. There were hit singles in it such as A Good Kis /Deli Oglan, and My Body.
Currently preparing her third studio album, Hadise is also preparing to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with her song Düm Tek Tek-Crazy For You. She will be the first singer not born in Turkey to represent the country. I wish luck to all other countries that are contestants of Eurovision 2009 but I, as a Turk, wholeheartedly believe that she’s going to win the contest! Here is the Eurovision song of Turkey for Eurovision 2009. You decide if I’m wrong or right...
