Baby It's Cold Inside (Ice Bar Xtra Cold Amsterdam)

While visiting Amsterdam in December, my friends and I went to check out the Heineken sponsored ice bar, appropriately named Xtra Cold Amsterdam.  Upon arrival, paying guests are greeted by staff who assist you in putting on the requisite parka and gloves before entering the icy realm of this unique bar.  Walls, bar, seats, tables, and even drinking glasses are made out of ice, the effect is amazing and a feast for the eyes. 

 

The bartender was very cool, but not cold, dressed in a red parka with fur lining, seats were also covered in fur, and cool tunes echoed off the backlit ice block walls, furnishings, and bar.  Anyone visiting Amsterdam whether in winter or summer should visit this cool bar, a chill scene for anyone seeking a frosty drink.
