After the famous Burger King Whopper campaign where Facebook friends could be traded for a free burger, there has been seen an immense (European) increase in 'swapping and exchanging' marketing promotions.
Perhaps also to blame/thank our credit crunch, it almost seems that we have gone back to times where currency was not worth a penny;)
From Media Markt electronics retailer to beauty giant L'Oreal or Grolsch beer brewer, they all seem to encourage consumers to trade in competitors products for in return offering free/discount items.
