Low Brow Art for Hi Brow Hipsters (The Fyne Art of David Lozeau)
Today, I attended the Dia de los Muertos at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside California where i came upon the "Fyne" art of David Lozeau (pronounced Low•Zow). I am now hooked... move over SHAG? Well, not yet but I really love David Lozeau's work.
David Lozeau's work is wildly colorful with bold lines, cartoonish characters, and quirky details that makes it stand out.
The subject matter of his works include hot rods, tattoos, zombies, and most noteably Day of the Dead imagery and symbols. He uses a one-shot lettering enamel and a cartoon-cell style of layering colors. David is also quite green, as he experiments with a variety of found items, from thrift store artifacts, discarded glass and frames to surfboards to violins and vintage car parts.
David's artistic breadth is matched by his unique style that translates into clay sculpture, screen-print posters and carved tikis. Give David a StyleXplorers "What's Next in Style" he is certain to catch on!

The event was awesome, I am going to get a piece of his work! I was thinking some of the cars would be great inspiration for him!

Great Event. Great artist. Was wonderful working on this project with you, Brian. Did you see the low rider altars (ofrendas)? They were great too. I will put the artwork up on that one soon.
