Café Marley sits under the arcades of the Louvre, no more than fifty feet from the glass pyramid. In fact, the terrace provides an elevated vantage point giving diners one of the most elegant and romantic views in the city. At sunset the scene reflects a golden glow that is nothing less than magical; glass and metal shimmering against the surrounding basin of water.
Le Cafe Marly is a posh bistro that is not only a scene to see and be seen, they serve Continental cuisine or light faire along with cocktails and of course cafe. Tourists and Parisians alike drop in to rest after wandering through the vast art collections or meandering the vast outdoor spaces surrounding the Louvre.
I was introduced to this fashionable spot by my sweetheart who spends a fair amount of time in Paris. There is the magic hour, when the sunlight is low, the perfect accompanyment to a glamorous and romantic evening in Paris.
I tried a Kir Royale (champagne and cream de cassis.) For dessert, the chocolate lava cake- oozing a molten center was incredible.
