Los Arcos has saved me from my Baja California withdrawal since I have been afraid to visit there of late. Aside from the people and scenery in Baja, I miss the seafood.
The menu is fairly simple and the focus is on fresh, quality seafood. There are several cuts of meat, but the real highlight is what comes from the ocean. I am a huge fan of their whole fish entrees. The waiter brings out a tray to show you the different fish they have, usually several different sizes of striped sea bass, red snapper or a small flat fish (something like a halibut). They give you frying the fish whole or opening it up and cooking it on the grill basted with a citrus sauce; and both are spectacular.
I always order the whole fish hope that whoever I am dining with orders something else, although once we ordered the large red snapper: 2kg (4.5lbs), of fried goodness. I have yet to go wrong with anything that I have ordered; from the shrimp cocktail, the oysters on the half shell or the ceviche de camarón (shrimp cooked with the citric acid of lemon juice), and ohhhh the shrimp and lobster.... I am always impressed and in a bit less withdrawal from my beloved Baja!
