And finally for those couples that are history buffs, the Muckross House gives a glimpse of Ireland’s rich history.  This elegant estate was for built in the late 1800’s for Henry Arthur Herbert and his wife Mary Balfour Herbert.  In 1910, an American, William Bowers Bourn, as a wedding gift for his daughter Maud and her husband Arthur Vincent, purchased this magnificent mansion.  These cozy quarters gave refuge to young lovers throughout history.  A tour of this lovely living space is available for in-depth history or takes a walk around the galvanizing grounds to evoke the romantic mood.
