On the roof of the restaurant "Kruazh" in the 1790 built mansion of the Volkonskiis, a summer terrace provides a completely new and unobstructed view of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and Ostozhenka. The skillfully renovated building features fine interiors like a museum exhibit with a perfect combination of modern and classic, silver-plated chandeliers, hand-made sconces, forged balustrades, patina mirrors in bar counters, antique sideboards decorated with gothic elements and hand-made furniture. In all, there are five different dining areas accomodating up to 200 diners.
"Kruazh" restores a number of forgotten culinary traditions and invites gourmands and those with more aesthetic taste to feast upon the best of European and Russian dishes inspired by classic recipes. Try signature buckwheat risotto with mushrooms, corn fritters with king crab, vodka caviar, kvass sorbet and many other dainties cooked according to his signature recipes and forgotten by our Russian predecessors during the lost communist years.
