Now being a sneaker and shoe fan(atic) I can say that since first seeing these shoes, I cannot get them out of my mind. Sak designer Ryusaku Hiruma and Converse have released the 2nd part of their ongoing collaboration featuring the classic One Star and Jack Purcell silhouettes, already two of my personal favorites.
Hiruma, immersed in the old world craftsmenship of Florence, Italy (where I lived for two years and is thus another reason for me to love these), has created a version of Converse featuring hand-stitched leather, striking a balance between dress shoe and sneaker.
This precious sneaker is part of Converse’s First String program, which includes only the most limited edition creations. they include the Jack Purcell shoe in an off-white oxford version and the One Star 1974 in a black oxford version. Only 64 editions of each sneaker will be produced and they vary from $600 to $700 retail.
