I just returned from a short vacation to Amsterdam and I am compelled to report to all of you of wonderful lounge called Little Buddha on Leidseplein square. The smartly-dressed but not showy crowd was just starting to build up when I arrived at midnight. There was no cover charge which is unheard of in my hometown. The decor was great. The bar was not too crowded so one could actually enjoy one's cocktail. The bartenders were very attentive and even remembered my special drink request from the prior evening. The variety of specialty cocktails was exceptional. The wasabi encrusted nuts at the bar were the biggest ones that i have ever seen! The music was upbeat but not overly loud which made conversation easier. Of course, the highlight of the evening was the friendliness of the people enjoying a night out. I especially will always remember with fondness the conversation with Sarah and Lianna and their two gracious classmates from the local University. They were the epitome of effortless elegance and genuine charm and they embodied the true Dutch spirit.
