Intimate Paradise in Switzerland (Zug, Switzerland)

Zug, Spotted by Brian
Overall rating:
Report value: $$$$ (high price)
Report style: Classic
As StyleXplorers prepares to report this fall from Europe we introduce you to one of our bases for StyleXploration... Zug, Switzerland.
The style of Zug combines the more intimate, classic and compact (walkable and bikeable) elements that those who prefer small to medium size town and city experiences to rush and chaos of larger urban destinations.
This town, founded by the Counts of Kyburg at the beginning of the 13th century, is represented to this day by the 52-meter Zytturm (Zyt Tower) built in that same period. Other more historical elements include the late Gothic style town hall, built in 1505, and the church of St. Oswald, which belongs to the same epoch, each is located in the quaint Old Town.
Zug is easy to explore on foot. There is an extensive network of footpaths, with several walks along the shores of the Zugersee (Lake Zug) and over the Zugerberg or the gently rolling moraine landscape of the region. When visitiing also be sure to try one of the paths for cycling or skating along the Zugersee.
Zug offers a great variety of dining and selection of evening night spots to explore (more to come in our subsequent reports). Zug's location between Zurich and Lucerne makes it a great addition to your Swiss travel.
