Al Capone, John Dillinger, Baby Faced Nelson, Frank Nitti, The Untouchables – who hasn’t heard of at least one of these gangsters?
Chicago is unique among world cities in its ability to boast a history of gangster and mafia people. Hundreds of shows follow the rise and fall of some of the most notorious gangsters and mobsters ever to walk the earth, some even show the elaborate (and completely) underground cellars and pathways that illegal bootleggers and prohibition dodgers took in order to supply the dry city with booze during the famed prohibition years.
While it’s impossible to do a tour of all of this history in a month let alone a few hours, the Untouchables tour tries to show as much as possible. It starts just off the magnificent mile, takes about 2 hours or so, and goes through some of the most gangster history rich areas of the city – covering such places like where the mafia and gangsters originally lived in Chicago, to the place Al Capone’s boss did business, to where Al Capone made his move, and all the way to John Dillinger and where he and his band of bank robbers plied their trade.
An unmissable stop on your trip to Chicago! See the city from a perspective few of the other tour buses give!
