Something great that could return with the rest of the 80s: Puppets.
The product:
- known for outrageous, physical (slapstick), sometimes absurdist comedy, [sounds like YouTube to me...]
- a 'show-about-a-show' done by the characters; multiple storylines; short skits and bits; always changing [matches the ADD attention span]
- known particularly for using its puppet characters to create humorous parodies. [the Daily Show, Colbert, the Onion... youth love politial parody especially]
Look at the current popularity of anime and flash cartoons, youtube videos, and you see there's not a huge need for realism.
Disney has the rights, they recently put reruns out on DVD, and new stuff on their XD website, but the writers for it are pretty sad. If they get in touch with the original spirit of the show, it could really do well.
Ah, if only I was a studio executive...
