Thomas Kinkade is my favorite contemporary artist. I find his paintings very soothing, warm and welcoming. I find it very easy to enter into the world he has created on his canvas. The message is one of warmth and has a sense of "home" and family values--even though usually there is no person depicted in his paintings. His use of light brings life to his paintings, and you know intuitively that there is a loving space for you enclosed within the walls of each house he paints.
I think the purpose of art is to uplift the spirit and to help us to be more human. Thomas Kinkade's art fulfills this purpose.

I love his art from a light perspective no one captures the depth of late afternoon sunlight or the warmth of a hearth fire or lamp through a window.
