Currently in its 12th year, the Webbys, have awarded the the host of the comedy talk show, Stephen Colbert, as the internet's "Person of the Year."
The comedian was given this award for "the innovative way he has used the Internet" to interact with the fans of his show. Apparently during his presidential campaign last year on the social networking website, Facebook, he had attracted 78 member per minute during the first week. Also among his other stunts was when he encouraged fans to make him the top search result for the phrase "greatest living American" on Google.
