As you can see from my profile, I am not only somewhat of a shoe fanatic, I have been a fan of Converse All Stars since junior high, but two years ago I came upon a vintage pair of PF Flyers on eBay, I purchased them and fell in love. I got so many complements on the shoes, and they were so comfortable, particularly for being somewhere around 50 years old, that I decided to seek out further information on this company that I had never heard of before.
I found a website and began searching for local retailers or a way to buy a new pair. I was amazed at the number of high and low top sneakers they featured on their website, but was disappointed that there were no local retailers to purchase from. I did order a pair from a retailer in Los Angeles, and then a second.
A friend recently pointed out a “fashion radar” report in San Diego style magazine “Riviera” where editors remark that Converse All Stars are yesterday, and PF Flyers are tomorrow. Well I was a couple of years ahead of the trend. I love the PF Flyers because they combine the retro style of Converse with a more durable look and comfort. I love my Flyers but I still like my Cons!
