I was lucky enough to catch the latest installation to the series at twelve in the morning. Only after did I realize how I was actually UNlucky to have lost ten dollars over a poor sequel. I won't go into detail about how and why I hated the movie, but the first of a wave of negative attention im certain is to come, has just surfaced.
Russians don't like the movie. I wonder why? Maybe because it portrays the Russians in a completely negative light. Ok, so it offends the Russians and they're banning it from the country, but who's side are we to choose here? On one we have creative liscence that I stand beside. I have my own material that might offend, but it's only for the sake of a good story. On the other we have a mass of dangerously short tempered people who are really offended, and have good reason to be. The movie tells their youth that the Soviet Union was just a big group of moon-bats who almost started an atomic war. It's basicly '57 propaganda.
Well, I'm more of a nice guy, so if someone has a logical and substantionl reason for why they are offended by my work, than I will to all that I can to correct it in some way. Of course it will be with quality work. Every writer knows you can rewrite easily enough. But I do have my own limits. I won't bend for any one of the offended. So which side do you choose? The offended or Liscenced? Why?
Also, if you plan on seeing the movie, go to matine (how in the world do you spell that word, please let me know if you post.) It's not even worth the seven dollar senior citizen ticket...
