The Sanderson Hotel in London is my absolute favorite haunt when I visit London. Promoted as a "lavish "Urban Spa" in the heart ofLondon’s West End," the Sanderson offers a retreat from the bustle of the city into a world of fantasy and wellbeing. Of course being a modernist fan as I am, this landmark 50s building was transformed by Philippe Starck into a surreal dreamworld combining signature modern and baroque style with dramatic yet comfortable interior spaces, where an 80' long bar, brilliant billairds room that is both cathedral and cathartic, a plush purple velvet bar, and lavish courtyard garden, spell just a few of the experiences.
The Sanderson Hotel offers the full boutique hotel experience, from dining at Suka, a signature Zac Pelaccio restaurant, to luxuriating at the Agua Spa.
The Sanderson epitomizes a “new luxury” that is smart, pared down, and tempered with a healthy dose of wit and irony – in short, a hotel with modern sex appeal. When next in London, mind the gap and check this out!
