The Olympics. Big opportunities for atheletes and for athelete apparel providers. Specifically Nike and Adidas are stepping up their game in the new Olympic season. The shoemakers are reving their engines, broadcasting ads and spending tons of money in efforts to appeal to the Chinese.
In the U.S, Nike dominates, but in China, who can say. Nike has really pushed with 32 athletic categories featuring their shoes. With expected downturns in U.S sales, China is the potential upswing and neither company is gonna miss out.
Nike is the cool brand, the staple brand that delivers and brings a strong vibe of athletic prowess to eager minds. Adidas is not backing down though and it will be interesting to see which shoe comes out on top. I'm rooting for Nike, Just Do It.
