Has there and will there ever be a groovier golf ball?! As taken from an Austin Powers movie, Nike was the creator of un unprecented, blingy golf ball, the Nike Mojo.
If you ask me, chances are small there will be a cooler, groovier one, at least performing as well as the Nike Mojo.
Some nerd facts:
The first Mojo released featured a pearlescent surlyn finish, with a low compression core that gives you the extra distance off the tee. The Mojo ball is Nike Golf’s next generation distance ball and will likely be best known for its psychedelic packaging and slogan: “Get long. Get feel. Get down.”
What takes the experience another level is that for each dozen, there is a pearlescent, coloured golf ball included, called the Karma ball with a small aura depicted on it. The Karma ball comes in orange, red, purple or the very rare Disco golf ball, in silver. Since a new generation of Mojo, without the attractive pearlescent cover has replaced the groundbreaking first generation of Mojo, the coloured balls have become somewhat of a collector's item. At eBay, bids start at $9.95 as compared to $20/dozen including only one Karma ball. But for three Disco balls, it is a price well surmountable for someone looking for more Karma on the course, and Mojo at the "19th hole", the clubhouse bar.
When smashing away a looong drive the times when my Karma awards me with a nice hit, using the Mojo, Austin Powers come to mind; "Groovy baby, yeaah!"
