As fuel prices go up it is throwing everyone for a loop but it especially seems to be turning the airline industry on its head. Continental was the second legacy carrier to announce layoffs not long after United. Airline tickets for the summer will double or triple in price. American Airlines set a new standard by charging a fee for one checked page. In a recent interview of Jet Blue execs they said any strategy to help with fuel cost is on the table. I wonder where it will end? Airline tickets keep going up and extra services provided by the airline keep going down. A recent Wall Street Journal article stated that people tend to act out on airplanes because of the tight space and lack of service. I wonder if there is another way for the airlines to fight high fuel prices but still keep some of the extras?
