CL REGALIA magazine
CL Regalia is a collection of little treasures; handmade clothing, hand bags, hats and jewelry for inspired women.
Sophisticated, strong and alluring clothing that has an impact on the eye, with a flirty feminine feel and a vintage flare. Classic pieces accented by new ideas and current trends.
Handbags to solve a common problem “my stuff doesn’t fit in this little clutch.” I made cute, semi-small bags that fit more than just lipstick. Hand bags that were not only fashionable but functional, with straps and pockets that make life a little easier, especially during a night out on the town. You no longer have to forgo bringing your cell phone, digital camera or pepper spray simply because it doesn’t fit in your super tiny clutch. Rich embellishments like beading, charms and hand made flower appliqués make carrying your necessities easy and beautiful.
Handcrafted hats that add an edge to any outfit. These crochetted and felted lids in the hottest colors and shapes make finishing your look easy and fashionable.
Danty, beautiful, flirty. The eye catching and classy jewelry utilizes unique antiques and salvaged pieces in a creative and whismical fashion. Recently I was lucky enough to hunt down a large collection of antique/vintage charms and buttons that had survived the tragic fire here in San Diego. Many of these charms and buttons are turn of the century. The fire left its mark on these treasures and this creates a fascinating effect and adds to the design of the jewelry. By using these and newer pieces, like charms, semiprecious stones, shells and glass beads, I have created many one of a kind earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings.

How I got started-
Having a strong creative side, you can always find me with my hands covered in paint or ankle deep in fabric scraps. At six I began crochetting and felting scarves, beanies and blankets. At ten I began sewing summer dresses and jumpers when my mom wasn’t looking and I could ‘borrow’ her sewing machine without her knowledge. In the beginning I would use commercial patterns (many I had commandeered from my grandmother) from the late 50’s, 60’s and into the late 70’s. Most of the patterns were out of style and very dated. These patterns were fine at first but as time went on I began to adjust the patterns so drastically you couldn’t identify which pattern I had started with. In high school I joined the drama club and took many stage craft classes, including costume and set making. For this course I tailored and altered costumes as well as created many from scratch. This experimentation led to growth in my ability and eventually I ended up at FIDM, to study Fashion and Costume Design.
I pride myself in the quality of my work and my unique eye for design. Recently I have set out to incorporate more salvaged and remnant fabrics, recycled leather and broken jewelry parts in my work, doing what I can to “reduce and reuse.” I wish to make clothing that lets people express themselves and promote a greener planet.
William Shakespeare said “All the world is a stage and the men merely players.” I say if all the world is a stage, then everyone could use a bigger costume closet… with lots of cute hand bags, jewelry and clothing by yours truly.
